BRRRR! I want my comfy sheets!

With the temperatures dropping and the chilly wind blowing, everyone looks forward to snuggling into a warm and cozy bed at night...  C and I just happen to disagree what type of sheets makes the most comfy, cozy bed... 

I believe that jersey, t-shirt sheets are soft and snuggly without getting too warm like flannel sheets.... C believes that he gets "stuck" in them... What does this mean?  I am yet to experience getting "stuck" in the sheets... He prefers the traditional cotton sheets which I think can get a little chilly when the temperature drops... Maybe we need to invent a hybrid sheet sheet, 1/2 mine, 1/2 his... 

I think I may be onto something!

Had a wonderful evening Saturday night with c, jp, eddie and their better halves . . .

 

Definitely interesting conversations when those three boys get together!  Well, in the holiday spirit, I wanted to bring some treats to share and I found the most amazing, and since I'm not the best baker, easy sweet recipe!  Three ingredients: pretzels, pecan halves, and rolos . . . . That's it!  The link below even has a microwave version of the recipe (I actually managed to use the oven for this one)....  No smoking oven, no burnt pans, they turned out beautifully!  If I can make them, pretty much anyone can!  P.s.  anyone who is a sucker for the salty/sweet combo (like I am) will adore these!!! :)

The hills are alive . . . .

Country superstar Carrie Underwood sang her little heart out on the live television production of "the sound of music"...  Carrie played nun/governess Maria (the role originated by the amazing Julie Andrews), I was a little skeptical, but Carrie did well . . .  I did have trouble envisioning vampire Bill Compton from True Blood as Captain Von Trapp, but overall, it was quite entertaining . . .  The Von Trapp kiddos were adorable, I especially thought Liesel (16, Going on 17) was quite good . . .  I liked it, but my overall verdict is nothing can compare to legends Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer in the original . . .

The joys of travel.

I travel quite often, but the increased number of people traveling for the thanksgiving holiday allows other to experience the joys of travel that I get to experience many times throughout the year... Long security lines, delays, lost luggage, missed connections, oh, so many wonderful things to encounter as we make our way from point A to point B.  Along with the joys of the airport and airlines, it's always interesting to find out who you'll be sitting next to on your flights...There are those people who as the moment they enter the plane, you cross your fingers that their seat assignment is not right next to you, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not so much . . .

I laughed my head off as Saturday Night Live spoofed this last weekend... Check out the video in the link below...  This may be your seat buddy on your journey to celebrate Turkey Day...

Another gold star day for C!

I guess cats can read...

C recently was a dear and put plastic on all the windows to keep those nasty drafts out...  As he was doing that, one of the windows he covered was our kitty, Fiona's favorite resting perch...  Since last year we had a little incident of baby Fiona bouncing off the plastic as she tried to jump in the window, C decided to put up a warning sign for her this year...  

Sure hope she can read it! :)

Sometimes he gets it!!

It's the little things . . . Another looooong day at work today, stayed late and had to make it to a hair appointment with Eddie's better half . . . Rushed home, ran in the door, dumped my dirty lunch containers and coffee mug in the sink and headed back out the door again . . . . I knew C would already be sleeping when I got home since he needs his beauty rest, so I thought I'd end up washing dishes when I got home from my appointment (which my hair turned out amazing, thanks T! )  . . .  Well, I was super surprised to come home to a sleeping C, but also a completely clean kitchen with all of the dishes washed  . . . He may be a pain sometimes, but the little thoughtful things like this totally make me a happy girl :)
